It’s a common saying that everything is bigger in Texas. Well, this week the Toyota Texas plant in San Antonio reached a Texas-sized milestone with the production of their one millionth truck. A Sunsent Bronze Mica colored, 1794 Edition Tundra was lucky number 1,000,000. Even though they were celebrating, the 2,800 employees at the plant still kept the most important aspect of the job in mind—the customers their trucks make happy.
“We are grateful for our loyal customers across North America who tell us they love driving Texas-built Tacomas and Tundras,” said Chris Nielsen, president of Toyota Texas. “It makes me incredibly proud of our team members and 21 on-site suppliers every time I see one of our trucks on the road knowing that safety and quality are built into every one of them.”
The Toyota Texas plant manufactures the Tacoma and Tundra trucks, producing the 1794 Edition Tundra as tribute to the ranch the truck plant is located on, which was founded in 1794. This fall, Toyota Texas will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
