On Monday earlier this week, Toyota announced that one of its most anticipated cars was officially available for purchase. For months, the company has been teasing the release of the Scion FR-S, in conjunction with the Toyota FT-86 and the Subaru BRZ, but now it has made its official appearance at the dealerships.
This will be Scion’s most performance oriented car but surprisingly, the FR-S is expected to get pretty good fuel efficiency. The 200 horsepower, 2.0 Liter, 4-cyliner boxer engine is claimed to return 30 MPG on the highway. When paired with the optional 6-speed automatic transmission, the car does even better and gets 34 MPG. This is all assuming that you can keep your foot out of the gas pedal though! The lightweight, rear-wheel-drive coupe is made even more agile by the boxer engine which contributes to a very low center of gravity. Everything about this car screams fast! You can bet they will be selling at the dealerships pretty quickly too.
