Each year Scion designs a limited production vehicle dubbed the “Release Series.” For 2012 Scion has kept with tradition and debuted the Release Series 7.0.
With its radiant high voltage yellow paint job and TRD body kit trims the Scion tC is sure to turn heads when it hits showrooms this summer. Complementing the bright yellow paint is the subtle black accents of the honeycomb grille, side mirrors, and the 18-inch alloy wheels.
Bringing the marriage of black and yellow into the interior gives the Release Series Scion an air of sport and sophistication. The yellow stitching in the deep black, leather-wrapped steering wheel, is out done only by the complimentary black and yellow sport seats. But the Scion tC isn’t all about image.
For the first time ever in a Scion vehicle, Toyota Motor Co. has included Toyota Smart Key technology with push button start technology. Another Scion first, is the 300-watt sound system, controlled by a 5.8 inch touch screen monitor. The system features HD radio and full iPod connections, but upgrade to the premium sound system and you get iTunes tagging and internet radio capabilities which support Pandora streaming.
Available in a 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed automatic transmission only 2,200 will be made. And starting at $20,905 MSRP for the manual version (an extra $1,000 for automatic) we expect these Scion tC Release Series models to fly off the dealer lots.
