Auto manufacturers are always trying to make better cars with more power and higher fuel efficiency, while lowering costs and keeping up with recent styling trends. It’s a tough dance, but when a manufacturer gets all the parts just right, it results in a vehicle that sells well. One of the best indicators of a good car is the amount of time (or lack thereof) that it spends on the dealership’s inventory lot. The ultimate goal is to have the dealership receive inventory and then turn around and sell it in a few days. Here at Cumberland Toyota in Cookeville, TN we love to see our inventory go to its new owner as quickly as possible. That’s why we were pleased to see a number of Toyotas on the September 2013 Fastest Selling Cars List.
This past month’s Top 15 Fastest Selling Cars list included five Toyotas that spent no more that 13 days in dealership inventories on average. Incredibly, the 2014 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab spent an average of only 5 days at dealerships, further proof that the small pickup market is growing. Similarly, the 2014 Toyota Tundra CrewMax and the 2014 Toyota Corolla spent only 9 days at the dealership before being sold on average. Spending an average of only 10 days on dealership lots, the 2014 Toyota Tundra crew cab was also a top seller. Finally, the 2014 Toyota Camry made the list, spending an average of only 13 days in dealership inventories.
