A Closer Look at the Toyota RAV4EV

When this group does a video on a product, you know that it is one of the most interesting and exciting new pieces of technology on the market. Recently, they took a closer look at the Toyota RAV4 EV which was a collaborative experiment between Toyota and Tesla. While Toyota created an all-electric RAV4 a while back (in as early as 1997), this version is more capable, more useable, and comes at a time when the infrastructure for electric vehicles is growing.

Some of the more important figures that we can take from this video are that the RAV4 EV (The world’s first mass-market fully-electric SUV) has a range of around 103 miles and that it has The RAV4 EV can also fully charge its batteries in as little as 5 hours with the 40A/240V quick charge cable. This quick charging is good news because the RAV4 EV has a sport mode that bumps the power from 154 hp and 218 lb-ft of torque to 154 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.
