Toyota debuted the 2014 Highlander Hybrid—the world’s first seven-passenger SUV hybrid of gas and electric power—at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which closed down for 2013 on December 1. The new Highlander Hybrid marks the first edition of the new third-generation Highlander, and Toyota has worked hard to make this SUV “the complete package for environmentally-conscious families who want to travel in comfort and style.”
While the segment differentiator is certainly the hybrid engine, at Cumberland Toyota, we’re just as excited about the redesigned interior. With increased room in the cabin, the Highlander can seat seven passengers more comfortably than ever. The interior also gains a 4.2 inch LCD Multi-Information Display that gives the driver tons of vehicle information, including information about the car’s energy use. This feature allows drivers to coax the most efficiency out of the hybrid system.
The Highlander’s Hybrid Synergy Drive puts the 3.5L V6 engine in concert with a “high-torque electric drive motor-generator for additional power and efficiency.” With improved functionality on the inside and improved capability in the underbelly, what’s not to like about the 2014 Highlander Hybrid? Come in to Cumberland today and you’ll agree with us that the answer to that question is simple: nothing.
